Theo Pozzy - 2024 PDGA Board of Directors Candidate
Meet Theo Pozzy, a highly respected figure in the world of disc golf, who is running for a seat on the PDGA Board of Directors in the 2024 elections. With over four decades of passion and dedication to the sport, Pozzy brings extensive experience to the table. As a co-founder of one of the first university disc golf teams at Dartmouth College, he helped shape the early days of ultimate frisbee. After discovering professional disc golf in Portland, Oregon in 1997, Pozzy quickly became immersed in the scene and rose through the ranks, joining the PDGA board as regional director before eventually becoming commissioner and president. Pozzy is known for his work on technology advancements, including live scoring and rating systems, and played a key role in growing the organization during his tenure.

introducing another candidate for the 2024 PDGA board of directors elections which begin on July 1st so check that email when July 1st rolls around for that ballot in your inbox that is if you are a current PDGA member and if you are you're going to want to vote for a couple of candidates out of a pool of seven to fill several open seats one of those candidates I'm happy to introduce Teo posy PDGA number 14166 Tao welcome why don't you tell us just a little something about yourself before we get started thank you grant um I've been uh passionate about disc Sports since I first learned ultimate in uh High School Back in 77 and then my freshman year at darmouth College was one of the co-founders of the first team they had it was when the sport was taking off and just enjoyed throwing frisbees forever and then growing up in New England we never had dis golf because there were no disc golf courses for a long long time but I moved out to Portland Oregon in 1997 and discovered hey they've got these baskets and like real courses and started playing and just got thoroughly wrapped up in the sport and you know learned about the pdj joined the PDGA started helping with local events um and then I got more serious and then eventually got involved with um the Northwest series and then helping with the beaver State fling and I was one of the core team members that took that from a c tier to a b tier to an tier to a national tour in four years and then at the same time I joined the PDGA board of directors um where I was um the regional director initially and then eventually the commissioner and president for four years and during that time it was one of the largest growth periods for the organization in the sport and I was led on the technology side I was the one who implemented um the first live scoring and I implemented the rating system and we you know built the national disc golf Center just I was it was a happy part of my life and something I enjoyed for many many years and then I've been on a Hiatus and now I'm back well welcome back let's Dive Right In...
