i started uh playing back in 1997 and started playing tournaments in 98. i only got introduced to the sport in 83 85 was the first year i started competing my first win was in 99 winning has become an addiction i really hate second place the only time i really didn't mind second place was at usdgc and there was no beating barry that year i'm not exactly sure of my first win but i know i remember the first time i won against joanne gallagher it was probably 86 or 87 and i just kept going because it was something i couldn't stop i mean when you start off and you're not thinking about you just people just want to get a one-win period the fact that i put together this many i mean it's it's it's pretty cool man it was never something i kept track of actually it was a friend of mine matt peckham who pointed out to me that he thought i had won more tournaments than anyone else then we pulled some stats and found that yes i did have the most wins of any player but of course then i also knew brian schweiberger was playing very intensely every weekend and he definitely had his sights set on becoming the player with the most wins i mean it was a goal i mean i put in the time to get there i played 100 more tournaments than the next closest person to me i mean like 725 tournaments played i mean so i mean it's it's a lot of time put in we started having a little bit of a battle back and forth i think it was just so fun that we both had the 300 recorded wins within a week of each other i think the number 300 was a real goal of his and i was a little more concerned about just staying ahead of them for as long as possible it's just you know competing is awesome man it's just i live for it i just i'm competitive i want to get the score that i know i can get and i think that attitude is is really healthy and i think that keeps me really motivated playing the chorus and not worrying about it what everybody else is doing and that helps keep your consistency i wouldn't...
