foreign welcome to the 2023 PDGA Junior and amateur Disc Golf World Championships from the Peoria area of Illinois I'm Grant Zellner technically it's day three but day two of action and to help clear those things up it's Nate heinold the tournament director of this incredible PDGA major Nate things haven't gotten off to the right foot in terms of the weather cooperating everybody having a great time and out on the course today yeah we uh had some smoke issues and uh cleared up um late last night this morning pretty early and we are excited to be on the course how have the weather delays affected your team are they still uh are they still awake are they still able to function right now yeah it's been um you know this event was 11 courses moving things around with that many players and courses is as I wouldn't say challenging I would say um hard to Fathom to be honest and so uh Doug vierkes and I have kind of I've been um staying up late the last few nights till about 1 30 and we've been documenting the numbers from preparing write-ups for the next day Doug's been going to bed about 10 30 and he gets up about 3 30 and then I get up at 5 30 and we talk and we get the release planned for the day in terms of what do we tell we not only have to tell the 800 players where to go but we have to figure out what staff to tell to go where what Marshall's to tell to go where and so that part's been challenging just to figure out where are we going when are we going um course schedules change so we have to flip volunteers around so logistically it's been very challenging roughly from the players perspective and the perspective of those following along how will the schedule be impacted by yesterday's delays or any future delays to weather yeah we put out um a release uh yesterday about 3 20 with the updated schedule and then this morning about five o'clock I had sent the final confirmation that we would play uh to Doug and we then sent the email to the players about 6 30. um the air quality index um started dropping dramatically yesterday afternoon and then it really leveled...
