hi my name is john menicucci i'm the tournament director for the 2022 pdga united states amateur disc golf championship 2013 i began with the united states championship and i've been doing it ever since the event started in early 2000's todd white was the original tournament director the event has always been on the toboggan disc golf course but the toboggan is only here specifically for a few short months of the year the united states amateur championship has only one division it has the best amateurs playing in the sport colton montgomery a past winner and last year rob verge was past winner kyle klein is on the tour he's past winter and he's done great on the pro tour as well so we see these guys just using this as their stepping stone to come in and become a professional right afterwards when you look at the pdga worlds for amateurs and you look at the united states championship the guys that are coming out of these events year after year and they're learning how to win and they're winning back home and they're coming into the bigger events is they learn to win these i think that makes the step into the pro a little bit easier for them because they've already experienced it they know what it takes to finish it off you
