this is matt rothstein with the pdga out here day one of the santa cruz masters cup it was a long one with some rounds clocking in at five and a half hours in mpo the story of the day was adam hames who wrote a hot start and stayed bogey free to finish 14 under too clear of the field we caught up with adam to ask him about his round i started off hot i think it was six through seven and uh you know just trying to throw smooth shots uh taking the extra deep breath in every t-box and just try not to find trouble if i did find trouble just do my best to get up and down and i did pretty good about that so he'll be joined on the lead card by kevin jones jeremy colling and 2020 rookie of the year kyle klein in fpo central coast fans will be in for a treat as the feature card sported three world champions along with am weekend winner danny clyden top two players in the world stayed true to form as paige pierce shook off a slow start to find herself with a one stroke lead followed closely by katrina allen who came in at two under the story of the day was five time world champion juliana korver who kept pace with pearson allen on the feature card we caught up with juliana after the round i don't think i've played here for at least 15 years and i i just love this course i just love playing this course and no matter when there's a bad hole or how bad a hole is usually the next hole is fun it's you know it's a challenge it's it's requiring some kind of shot shape and or or height restriction and it's just fun so it's easy as far as i'm concerned to sort of put that in the past and go attack the next challenge tables are set for an exciting finish here at santa cruz masters cup with daylight rolls and two meter rules it's anybody's game
