what's up everybody and welcome to another episode of down the fairway in today's episode of down the fairway i'm gonna give you my number one tip for putting for beginners and new players now this includes juniors and the junior divisions i see a lot of parents telling their kids to make sure to lay up all kinds of putts outside the circle and i even see it inside the circle now i'm here to tell you first that i don't believe that's a good idea i think that everybody in practice should run everything and the reason i tell you to do this is because you're wasting precious putts that you could be learning from in the process now running everything in a tournament i definitely don't suggest that but i see everybody even in practice and useless time when they're playing laying up these putts where i think that if you run that putt you can learn a lot more plus you get practice coming back at it here's an example just remember there's no harm in taking extra strokes in practice now the reason i recommend this for beginners is because then you get to see different results if you just lay it up we all know what's going to happen you're going to throw it to 10 feet make your 10 footer move on to the next hole but if you go for it you test your nerves and then if you miss you get to see different results and what could happen if you miss and that comes into play especially in tournament play and different things like that so i recommend in practice always running all of the tough putts that way you can gain the confidence because it's important to learn it now having to face that situation in a tournament when you've laid up every single putt in a practice round isn't going to help you but let's say you get to a situation to where you have to run it and now the nerves have got a hold of you and it becomes an even tougher putt you've already practiced it and you know what the result could possibly be you don't find yourself in a situation you haven't been before thank you for watching this episode of down the fairway please remember to like subscribe leave a comment in...
