what's up everybody and welcome to another episode of down the fairway in today's episode of down the fairway i'm gonna switch it up a little bit today and i'm going to dive into the mental aspect of disc golf and give you a couple tips that'll hopefully help you down the road the number one thing i see people do and everybody should be held accountable for this is self-talk the negative comments when you're on the course to yourself are the most important ones because your brain processes that and then it's really easy to become those negative things for example i miss a putt i say damn you suck that's a very bad habit that i have to break because as soon as i say that your brain's gonna process that and then that's just a really negative thing that you have to overcome for your next putt instead take a second realize your mistake say really or oh my goodness and then fix it mentally and physically move on to the next one and that's just really sport psychology 101 the next one is just really a pet peeve that i have that i hear a lot of people using on the disc golf course and i'm sure you guys have heard it as well and that is like if somebody hits an ace in practice they say oh no i wasted it for the tournament also a really bad habit my mentality is if i hit an ace in practice that means i'm playing really good and i'm probably gonna hit one in the tournament and i take that kind of positive attitude into that tournament mindset and i've had a lot of success with that mindset hitting aces on camera i've been on espn a few times and since i've kept that mindset i'm always confident that maybe just maybe that round no matter what happens in practice i'm gonna get that ace that i've been longing for or let's say you've had a really really great round and you're like oh man i wasted it for the tournament or i wish i would have done that at league focus on your successes forget about the bad stuff little tricks like that go a long way in self-improvement especially on the disc golf course now good healthy tricks for you to do are something...
