The PDGA and Pro Tour Relationship | Grip Locked Clips
The PDGA and Pro Tour Relationship is an in-depth discussion on the connection between the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) and the Pro Tour. Hosts explore the complexities of rules enforcement and jurisdictional issues that arise from the Pro Tour's affiliation with the PDGA. They delve into the implications of this relationship, including the potential for suspension or penalties from either organization. The conversation touches on the Blue Ridge Tour and the challenges of establishing repercussions in a Facebook group setting. The hosts also examine the role of the PDJA (Professional Disc Golf Association) in supporting the Pro Tour's efforts and potentially serving as a liaison between the two organizations. As the discussion unfolds, it raises questions about the future of the Pro Tour and its potential relationship with the PGA (if they were to become affiliated).

this topic has come up before on the show um but we're just we haven't fully explored it yet but we were talking about the blue ridge tour our tour yes and basically we were writing the facebook group rules and we wanted to have something where if something happened in our group there could be repercussions on tour such as a suspension or something like that so basically if someone went into the group and was like cursing out a td and going off on him in the facebook group since in a tour group we were saying oh then you could be suspended from the tour for however many events or whatever but then we realized we don't actually have any control over that because these are just pbga events and we're just kind of grouping them together that led us to thinking that the pro tour is in the same boat basically the pro tour can't suspend someone beyond the pdga because the pro tour basically the pdga owns the pro tour events when it comes to sanctioning and rules enforcements it's the same reason that they can't like let's say that nico misses a putt on live coverage and just yells the f word at the top of his lungs they can't find him 50 bucks or yeah because if they if he's they did he said no then they say you can't play our next tour event he could say watch me yeah because he's just going to sign up i think the salute it's an interesting problem but i think the solution is very clear because i think the pdga uh likes the pro tour they seem to want they seem to be pretty uh cooperative with them so i think the very simple solution is just the pdj and the pro tour announcing or establishing that they cooperate when it comes to rules so if the pro tour finds you or suspends you the pdja goes along with it yeah well i didn't want to go simple i want a full step farther i mean i think that's i think that's the solution i was basically wanted to go through and like talk through should the pro tour split from the pdga like what are the pros and cons of them being pga sanctioned events versus not being yeah what does it allow...
