Ricky Talks Mindsets and Tour Managers | Nick and Matt Clips
Nick and Matt sit down to discuss mindsets and tour managers in the golf world. The conversation centers around what it would take for a player to be crowned Player of the Year at this point in their career. Nick recently won his 13th DGPT event, putting him two behind Paul Macbeth's record. To achieve this feat, Nick believes winning one of the USDC or Pro Tour Finals tournaments is crucial. Consistency throughout the season is also key, as a player can have a strong week and still struggle the following week. The athletes' mindset and ability to sustain their level of play are essential factors in determining success. With his upcoming events, Nick weighs in on what it would take for him to be considered Player of the Year, sharing valuable insights into his approach to competition and personal preparation.

welcome to the nick and matt show bringing the player interviews you want to hear and the hot topics you want to discuss streaming live on the foundation podcast youtube channel here's nick and matt so i i want to get your opinion on what you think because i think you mentioned like player of the year a minute ago and one of the conversation points you were making i i you didn't necessarily say you were but what do you think it would take or maybe you think you are but what do you think it would take for you to be player of the year at this point um and just to set that up just to set that up for you you just won your 13th dgpt event okay and that's two behind the most ever which was by paul macbeth if you win two more you're tied for the most dgpt's ever what's it gonna take for you to be player of the year if if you don't think you are already so i think it's gonna be usdc or pro tour finals if i can win one of those i think it would um for me in my eyes with the the field that you have to beat and and uh the amount of i guess points and stuff and and the the way we look at these tournaments those two are pretty big events and so i think if i won one of those i think i would i would be able you know depending obviously on my finishes you know i mean that's the other thing is you know we're trying to win but also there's something to be said for consistency too as a as throughout a season because you know you're not going to win every tournament as much as that's what we want to do as top athletes we want to win every time but you also want to have uh solid finishes if you win then you're getting 20th the next week it's like you know versus someone that wins and then gets a top five that's you know that's a lot more valuable in my opinion as an athlete being able to sustain that level of play even when you're not winning so and it's a lot harder to do obviously it's easier you know i win this...
