welcome to the nick and matt show bringing the player interviews you want to hear and the hot topics you want to discuss streaming live on the foundation podcast youtube channel here's nick and matt in another post-run interview press conference i should say this year you've talked about how you've recruited help for your touring and communication efforts so you're kind of building yourself a team with the paige pierce tour the paige pierce life and disc golf can you kind of elaborate on what that is and what that means to the outside person um yeah i just i mean for my whole disc golf career up until three months ago two months ago maybe um i have been a one-woman show just uh everything that you see that has paige pierce on it i've done by myself so um yeah yes i'm a disc golf athlete i am uh you know the number one ranked player in the world but that comes with a lot more responsibilities than just getting birdies and and winning tournaments um these days you know sponsors want you to be a youtube celebrity they want you to you know the media wants you to do all these commercials and um you know you have to negotiate your own contracts and for me i mean i'm almost 30 now but you know back when i was 19 23 you know i was having to be the one to negotiate my sponsorships and you know at 24 years old already having three world titles and trying to solidify myself a better career in a better contract um i didn't even know how to talk to another human being yet you know um i'm very reactionary and i think i got that from my dad um and i i should not have been the one talking to the ceos of these companies um so i think that it it's taught me a lot over the years and i'm really grateful for having done that myself but i think it was time for me to start taking some of those um rolls off of my plate um so i hired some people to do my youtube channel so um i'm still gonna be the one videoing uh the stuff but i'm no longer gonna be editing or uploading or posting um i hired like a whole...
