I'm the disc golf guy and this is my video blog. Today we're up in northern Wisconsin at one of the coolest places in the world, Sandy Point Resort and Disc Golf Ranch. And I'm joined by the owner, co-owner, Mike Cousins. Mike, how you doing tonight? I'm doing great. How about you? I'm doing good. As I just said, this is one of the coolest places in the world to be. Lots of people will say that. I'm sure they tell it to you all the time. Absolutely. You've got a disc golf course, permanent 27 holes on private property in northern Wisconsin. give anyone at home that doesn't know the story, give them the the quick overview here. Well, um, back in 1993, uh, we got sick of what we were doing. My wife Michelle and I in, uh, Northern California, uh, loved the area, but, uh, just kind of burned out on the whole, uh, rat race thing and decided to come up here and, um, look for a place to, uh, run, you know, as far as a resort goes. We're maybe looking for a bed and breakfast, but uh, glad we didn't do that. And um then we uh looked at 10 resorts in the area. This was the last one on the list. Fell in love with it. Had some acorage for the course. I knew I wanted to build a course here cuz I've been disc golfing since uh you know the the mid70s. And so um it evolved from there. It started nine holes and off we went. So So now we're here we are all these years 15 16 17 years later somewhere in that neighborhood. All these years later I think I've been up here for the like 15 out of the last 16 years. It's been a long journey for myself. And you're running an A tier super tour event, you know, for the professionals, a big B tier on the Wisconsin tour, everything else. Is this what you envisioned? Did you have any idea we'd get to this point? Not really. No, not even close. Um, I knew I wanted to have a course here and I definitely wasn't even ever planning on necessarily opening it to the public. Although I'm sure glad we did because um, running a resort up in the North Woods is not necessarily...
