I'm the disc golf guy and we are here in Watsonville California for the 2016 Daisy chains open this is an all women's event in its fifth year and more importantly it's part of the 2016 Global event there are more than 1,600 women competing all around the globe right here against one another virtually this is your inside look at the daisy chains open yeah w all right and we're back and I'm joined by Christine hurin the original tournament director here of this awesome event the daisy chains how in the world did this great event come about well this came after the world so we hosted the worlds in 2011 and afterwards we had some great ladies in the backyard and Tom shot and we were talking about how do we keep the energy going and we said well all of these women came down for the worlds and like let's bring and a lot of them came down as volunteers let's bring all this energy together and turn into wom's tournament at Pinto Lake and the first year had how many participants uh we had 50 to 55 the first year and then I went and just stocked every woman I saw in the course for the next year and then we had 50 or 55 again and then all of a sudden just it just blew up and it's been fantastic what would you say some of the keys to the succcess now that it's blossomed is such a huge event that's out on everyone's bucket list what are a few keys to the success here um well we really came together as like a group of women and uh when it first started we brought in ideas from a lot of different places um Sharon Jenkins was in town after the worlds and so we had some experience there and we had a lot of fresh ideas from uh more like casual tournaments so everywhere you go there's like a prize or a snack or you know we have water we have porta potties and the porta potties are stocked with with everything you could ever need and you know it's just everything's thought of for you you just play your tournament and you just enjoy it we've got food here um so everybody's fed and everybody's just having a great time you can...
