I'm the disc golf guy and this is my video blog today we're joined by Phil Arthur PDGA number 7289 Phil the number one question everybody wants to know here is why in the world are you playing the open division after you just won Masters last year Well I uh I set goals try to achieve them and that's pretty much it I had no desire to defend my title I uh you know I I'm playing solid golf I want to give it an opportunity I'm not getting any younger so if I'm playing good golf I might as well give it a shot and that's a goal that I set for this year so you won last year uh you didn't want to come back and repeat as you're saying you maybe was there the hint of the sandbagger does that get used in in the uh in the Masters division when you're of age does that term actually get thrown around or not really not really get thr around a little bit a little jabbing here and there but it's in good fun but um yeah no no just uh an answer to the question no okay good so last year you were a finalist at the usdgc arguably one of the most prestigious events in the world you're a finalist there you carried yourself very well shot well all week long did that factor into where your goals were and why you decided to come back and play in the open Vision this year here at the at the worlds no um really the reality is nobody's ever won matches to turn around and win the open just an opportunity to do something that's not been done so I'm I'm just going to give it a shot and play my heart at so let's get into some of the specifics today you were out there playing tell everyone at home this was just day one of the worlds tell everyone at home how you shot what your scores were how things went for you out there well it was the go course and bar 66 I shot pretty well I uh I managed the really well rescued really well puted solid and came out with the 57 which you know keep me in the hunt absolutely 57 I was fortunate enough to be on a...
