i'm the disc golf guy and this is my video blog after about 27 or 28 hours of straight traveling we finally landed here at the pure cottages on the nor about four hours north of tokyo i'm joined by good friends sam farron sam how you doing today i'm doing great man welcome to japan over today thank you thank you this is actually my second time here yes indeed everybody talked about it a couple years ago about the phenomenal experience that it was and everybody was right and i was fortunate enough to have get a call from you just a few weeks ago saying that i actually won free airfare back here because i had supported some other uh fundraiser disc purchases so yeah some of the best news i've ever gotten from sam uh for those of you may not know sam uh he's done a lot of things with disc golf uh probably before uh you guys were even around or even knew anything about disc golf including setting some world records and doing some other things sam give these guys uh overview of some of the stuff that you've accomplished or and don't be shy we know you've done a lot so tell us about some world records and other things that you've done all right well basically in 1984 uh i won the pga world championships uh and was the youngest person to do so and at the age of 16. 16. wow okay so i grew up in la morada you know and that was like the second or third disc golf course to go in and uh you know essentially you know that's what i did you know from eight years old and a lot of the holes were you know conducive to hyzer shots and turnover shots and rollers and i was able to kind of you know figure out the game quickly and uh and took it uh took it to the international level and then you had great success in the world championships again at a young age 16 that's that's incredible then you took it a little bit further and you specialized a little bit in what is now distance a distance competition tell us about that that's correct uh you know base basically in la mirada we would we would play in the uh the...
