The Disc Golf Guy joins forces with fellow Midwesterner and fellow disc golfer Dana Vicich at the beautiful Vista Park in Arizona for a practice session ahead of the 2012 season. The duo is looking to build on last year's success and Dana shares her hard work and dedication to training, including strength exercises and core building. As they navigate the park's busy course with its many challenges, including teas, baskets, and championship layouts, they witness everyday Arizona activities like kids sledding and fishing. Disc Golf Guy brings along a useful tool from World Sports' John Heaton, the Scepter, which features a Little Hook that can retrieve discs from water, showcasing Dana's handy technique for picking up lost shots.

I'm the disc gol guy and this is my video blog brought to you by disc Nation one nation under par well I'm joined By Dana Vichy a fellow midwesterner and here we are in the the sunny and oh beautiful Arizona Dana we just arrived today what do you what do you think I'm not complaining Terry you came in from Chicago area I came in from the Milwaukee area 30 40° windy baly what do we have out here uh forecasted for this week 75 all week I think 80 maybe even 80 and he's not talking about his score that's for sure maybe on two rounds so it's going to be gorgeous out we're out at Vista Dana's getting some hardcore practice in Dana you've been traveling you've been practicing pretty hard in offseason uh what can we look forward to uh here in 2012 well looking to build upon last season's success and uh like you said I've been practicing and training all winter uh put a lot of time in the wait room and uh running a lot strengthening the core so really doing everything you should be doing to better yourself as a disc golfer well I let's just say I practice my vlogging I didn't do quite as much as you did in the offseason so we're out at Vista which is a very busy Park there's a lot of different things going on there's teas and baskets and Championship layout uh we saw all sorts of crazy things what what do we see going on out here today and we saw kids swimming soccer uh fishing sledding sledding now sledding yeah we had to show you that that uh their sledding is a little different here in Arizona than what we have in Wisconsin uh one of the tools you pulled out today from John Heaton in World Sports uh tell everyone a little bit about it right here I've got scepter from World Sports and basically uh I either use it when I'm practicing pick up pick up discs or uh like out here there's tons of water so we've got a little uh Little Hook on here and uh scepter just pops out and uh retrieves discs and we're going to be showing plenty of action of you retrieving various discs out there today yeah hopefully not too many of...
