Meet Bob Decker, one of the candidates running for the PDGA Board of Directors. In this interview, he shares his passion and experience with disc golf, which spans over 20 years as a PDGA member. hello everyone and welcome to the 2021 pdga board of directors canada interview tara miller the disc golf guy i've teamed up with the pdga to bring you some of the interviews some of these questions so that we can get to know our board candidates a little bit more so that you're well informed when you go out and vote today joining me is robert decker otherwise known as bob right bob can i call you bob yes that's what i go by all right well we gotta make we made it all official on your on your title there with robert but uh welcome thank you for joining and i'm gonna start out with a couple of softballs for you which is uh how long have you been a pdga member and how long have you played disc golf well i've been a pdga member since approximately 1999 or 2000. so we'll just say 20 or 21 years what was that next question you asked me how long have you played and and then also what drove you to the sport i started playing in 1996 at bendela tour scout ranch with a humphrey flyer one of those free frisbees you get and pvc pipes and came down from there to kansas and started playing disc golf played a lot in 97 and 98 and bluntly quit out of disgust in late 98 and didn't come back in playing until late 99 again so i was off about a year then been at it pretty straight and and i have to know like what what what reeled you back in though if you if you left with a little frustration what reeled you back in well a little bit of what reeled me out we had some difficulties with the local club and i was treasurer at the time and uh then after i got over the issues and saw that the club was struggling i came back and helped pick up the pieces all right well good sounds like a great start for some of the board candidate questions that i've got for you so i'm going to get into them and it says the first one is one of the two main elements of the pdga mission is to develop disc golf into a globally competitive sport globally recognized competitive sport and recreational activity what does...
