Is this gonna ruin disc golf? And no, I'm not talking about us. What's up, degenerates? It's the disc golf world. I'm Jefferson. Alongside me, as always, I got the one with all the holes in this game, Swiss cheese, breaking down all the things you might have missed from across social media. Dare I even say the disc golf world on this episode of Soup, the new weekly series highlighting the wonderful content you may not have seen, like this breaking news on the Fish Golf broadcast. Breaking news for the Fish Disc podcast, but uh I don't really think I'm going to be able to go Europe. I seriously can't recommend enough checking out all the channels we discussed today. They did all the hard work, so make sure to go show them some love. This past week, Andrew Fish sat down with Cinema Club member Silus Schultz, and I found this conversation very interesting. A lot of pro disc golfers get a lot of hate in my comment sections for not having great social media. And to me, I never fault professional athletes for not being good at social media. It's it's not close to the same. Kenheimer is an incredible thrower for disc and a machine when it comes to disc golf. He's he doesn't have any desire or expertise to keep your attention on Instagram. And it's not because he's not an interesting person. It's because he doesn't care about that. Now more than ever, there is an emphasis on players needing social media. It's almost an expectation unless you're in the top 10 every week. We're even starting to see players hire people to make content for them in order to create a bigger fan base, which professional disc golf desperately needs. Our sport has to find a way to bridge the casual fans to care more about the pro side. But forcing the players to also be filming, editing, responding on top of the practicing, driving, and you know, living will ruin disc golf for these pros because their job is no longer just to play disc golf. It's to be a spokesperson, salesman, influencer, and all the other hats they need to wear in order to do the actual job they wanted.
