The 2023 US Disc Golf Championship has been marred by controversy surrounding the tee pad problems that plagued Round Three. Pro golfer Jefferson discusses the issues at length, revealing a teapad made from two different materials, including Turf material not intended for use on disc golf discs, which led to confusion among competitors. The situation was further complicated when duct tape was used to cover up an issue with the defined throwing zone, leaving many players unsure of where to aim their throws. Even PDGA officials were called in to clarify the problem, highlighting the need for standardization in disc golf equipment.
