Simon Laz makes an appearance on Staggered Stance this week to open up some perspective fans might not realize about his life on tour. And with my role on tour, which is basically saying yes to every opportunity I get to be part of practice rounds or skins matches or any kind of media obligations there is >> um I am basically just running around from camera to camera, from microphone to microphone and I have gotten this year so far two practice rounds to myself. Two. Is there such thing as too many obligations? How much can one player do before or even during a tournament until it starts hindering play? Maybe never. But based on what Simon had to say, it feels like there can at least be benefit if he had dedicated practice time instead of it being an obligated media appearance everywhere he goes. That isn't just an issue for him either, but it's the new expectation for pros. Sponsors are requiring a social media presence for their players. And from personal experience, I can tell you it's a job. There's a reason Simon hired an editor. >> I am really happy with the quality of content we're putting out. Um, we've actually tried a couple different approaches to this kind of behind the scenes slashvlog slash um just fun stuff off the course and on the course. Trying to bring in other pros when possible. doing Airbnb stuff. Um, and it's it still hasn't really caught on the way I hoped it would. Um, so financially speaking, it is not as successful as I hoped it would be, but it is still on the justifiable side of things. >>...
