Hey, did you know there was three major tournaments this past weekend? Well, technically only one major, but you probably didn't even know, so who cares? What's up, degenerates? It's the Disc Golf World breaking down everything disc golf from the weekend. I'm Jefferson, and alongside me, as always, we got Swiss cheese. After Champions Cup, the Disc Golf Pro Tour takes a week off, but that doesn't mean disc golf did. And actually, we had some pretty solid events going on. But the question is, why do fans not care? Maybe that's not the best way to frame it as I feel like most disc golfers had no idea these events were even going on. Probably should start by telling you guys what went down. The PDGA wasn't done with their vacation, so they extended it another week in New Mexico for the Tim Sinsky's US Masters. Then you had the oho famous Santa Cruz Masters Cup at the even more famous de la Viega. I'll be the guy to say it. This course needs to come back to the professional scene. And finally, the first A tier at Maple Hill in years, the Cosmic Open. Each of these tournaments had notable players and I would argue plenty of storylines to pay attention to. However, the coverage gets significantly less viewership, which is understandable to a point. I'll be the first to admit I'm not the biggest fan of post-produced coverage. My Gen Z mind has been fried due to the brain rot and endless scrolling of 15-second shorts. So, there's no way I'm going to be able to pay attention for over half an hour just for nine holes. I think lots of people feel the same way, especially when the event doesn't really have any sort of impact. This loses the only reason fans have to get truly invested. I think that's a huge problem because there are so many great reasons to pay attention. You got Nate Sexton playing in his first age protected major. I shouldn't have to explain the history of DA, but I'll just throw these up in case you started playing postcoid. And then you got Simon, and everyone likes watching Simon. This stuff is just surface level. I can go on and on, but that wouldn't matter. You know why? Because for some reason, Discolf hates to broadcast why fans should...
