What Dez and Val were both told was that having a woman's signature on the disc would hurt sales. Is it safe to say disc golf hates women? What's up, degenerates? It's the Disc Golf world. I'm Jefferson, the dude that's going to lecture y'all about how horrible you've treated the girls in the sport. Obviously, I'm being hyperbolic, but also not really. Disov has a pretty messy history when it comes to accepting women. I mean, have you ever seen the DG Circle Jerk subreddit? Yeah, me neither. The new disc golf documentary, No Girls Allowed: The Untold History of Women's Disc Golf, has dropped. And I couldn't recommend you check it out anymore. I'd rather you spend the $5 on this than a used and abused destroyer from the used section. And if you know me, you understand how big of a compliment that is. If that doesn't have you convinced, we have the creator, Matthew Roststein, to at least educate all you on the hidden lore of our sport. >> You guys uh know that I'm working on a kind of a broader disc golf history project. um the book Steady, the untold history of disc golf. Um it's a comprehensive um telling of the disc golf story. So for almost two years now, I've been deep in research um from the very beginning going back to Fred Morrison and the and the Pluto platters all the way through modern day. And um I didn't really go in there with any kind of preconceptions of what I would find or what the main story threads were. I just um was interested in I was interested in the PDJ in particular um and disc golf kind of more generally, but as I'm going through this story um and this history, certain certain threads just kind of jumped off the page at me, you know, like wow. One of those wows was the last episode we did with Matthew. Definitely check that out if you haven't seen it already as we discussed the PDGA revolution. Like he mentioned, this is one installment of a series he's releasing all on the topic of the early ages of disc golf.
