In the last episode of TD School we discussed Disc golf Scene which helps with planning your event. In this episode we'll be looking at 2 important technological tools that the PDGA provides to help TDs during the event. Tournament Manager and Tournament Central. Welcome back to TD School. Tournament Manager is the primary event management platform and allows TDs to perform nearly all of the administrative functions of the tournament in one place. This includes assigning course layouts, setting up and publishing tee times or starting holes, tracking finances, calculating payouts, and much more. Tournament Central, on the other hand, is an additional interface built on top of Tournament Manager, specifically targeted toward the Tournament Day activity. Tournament Central interoperates seamlessly with Tournament Manager. Both systems write their data to the same database, so any changes made in one system will automatically be recognized by the other. Select the event to be administered from the drop down menu and click the "Continue" button. For most users, only one event will be available in the drop down menu on this page. Once you've logged in, you'll have access to a full suite of functions inside Tournament Manager. These online screens are a great improvement over the old Excel file TD report of the past and the online functionality means that the PDGA's Event Support Team can see what you see in order to give you assistance at a moment's notice. Visit pdga. com/TM for a deep dive into how the platform works, including step by step videos on how to use the platform. Tournament Central is a new add on to Tournament Manager. It uses the same database...
