it's PDGA radio Grant zelner Jennifer Allen and this week Parker Welk coming off of a big victory at the Shelly sharp event there in Arizona uh an event that has become synonymous with the offseason I think at least in that part of the country Parker putting your name on that trophy congratulations first of all and welcome to PGA radio thank you and like you said Shel sharp is I think it like kind of signifies the start of the tour for for a lot of people out in this part yeah it absolutely does and it's it's almost I feel like just as big event as Memorial like they almost coincide except we just don't play Fountain Hills but it's it's definitely one of the um big events all year you know one of the top events in Arizona absolutely it's one that I'm always looking forward to coming out here and playing yeah well Parker people have probably gotten to know you since last year's big victory at the dynamic disc open in the middle of the touring season I'm gonna go ahead and and bet that people maybe didn't know you all that well before that particular event and then they they scrambled to get to know you after that so I want to start right there and then maybe we'll work sort of backwards and forward from that ort of uh career achieving moment for you after the dynamic dis open well let's go this way talk about what that was like now that you've had six seven months to to reflect on it talk about what it was like winning on the disc golf pro tour when it came sort of out of the blue in the way it did for the DDO last year yeah I mean um just a kid from Huntington Beach coming out there and winning on tour absolutely nobody knew who I was but you always got to start somewhere and um it it really was just kind of life-changing there was just an insane amount of people that have you know followed me on my social media now they sent me so many texts and it it seemed like it was just an an overflow of just love after I won that event and that kind of propelled just me as a human being upward in in...
