it's PDGA radio with Grant zelner and Jennifer Allen and joining us again Robert I think it's been almost a year to the date it's Robert Leonard policy and compliance specialist with the PDGA also a marshall as you can see right there on your shirt for our viewers that is he is a rules expert to be sure one of several that I would trust most with a rules question when it comes to the game of disc golf and Robert you are here to explain to us the rule changes that are enacted officially now that it's 2024 yeah yeah absolutely you know the the rule book and the competition manual the official rules of dis golf I should say the competition manual um and the tour standards do get updated uh year to year and um you know the the primary differences between those three things are the rulebook is things that can happen whether you're competing in a sanctioned event or just casual play uh anytime you play this golf the competition manual is related to PDGA sanction tournaments and tour standards are guidelines and expectations for how those tournaments run so we have had a major and minor updates in all three for 2024 as is common for every calendar year nice well I I don't know I'm going to leave it to you actually because of your expertise in terms of how to get in I I assume there's I don't know half a dozen a dozen I don't know how many total individual changes but you know which ones are the most important which ones uh say players are most likely to encounter either on the course or as uh you know something related to competition so I'm going to let you prioritize for us and let's just let's just run through at least the most important ones that that our listeners are most likely to encounter yeah absolutely um there were what I think are two major changes to the rule book uh this year uh the first one of those uh we find in 83.0 one moving obstacles in the past for a casual obstacle to be to be moved it had to be in the player stance now any casual further from the target uh from the front edge of the LIE is eligible to be moved uh you'll hear...
