welcome to round four of the 2024 PDGA amateur Disc Off World Championships here in Grand Rapids Michigan we are back at Rotary this is a wide openen course that was an old golf course that was recently turned into a disc golf course it is a wide open course with a lot of OB very scary here I am Brook Johnson and I'm Ashley picket and we are following our round four lead card today here at Rotary and our ladies were facing some wind we had Virginia pking Horn at -3 myself and theres KZ at -7 and Janelle Cole at -6 this is going to be a a really fun round to watch this course was playing really tough there was a lot of wind today lots of OB holy moly was there a lot of wind we are speaking of wind we're going to head over to Hole one a 323 ft Par 3 you've got OB to the left Amando to the right this tree in the middle a swamp in the middle and a headwind in your face so it was quite a challenge uh for our ladies today let's see how our lead card handled it first from O Fallon Missouri Virginia pking Horn I like how the announcer is really accentuating the oh Fallon there when he's announcing it least you said our name right this time yes absolutely ping horn instead of pking thorn good pull from Virginia you saw the L get a hold of that partway out of her hand honestly just want to get out clean here there are so many holes that are easy to birdie this is not necessarily one that you want to try to attack hard and get get a rough kick or anything to start the round that was kind of what I thought I had kind of two options in my hands walking up the Hatchet which is what I ended up throwing and the grace which is a little bit more stable of an option and I figured go with my trusty Hatchet that's a nice low line I was trying to keep it out of the wind not upset at all no I wouldn't be mad about that either there's plenty of people that have hit that first available tree there in the middle they get a kick and go...
