foreign welcome to Sunday the final day of the 2023 PDGA U.S women's disc golf championships from Burlington North Carolina we are here not only with our final days action here from this PDGA major it's also our final broadcast for the season nobody better to welcome into the booth than the tournament director of this year's U.S Women's Championship Chuck Connolly Chuck you're one of the most prolific tournament directors in PDGA history with hundreds of events under your belt and I'm not just talking about little uh individual leagues nights even though those are important I'm talking about big events you know better than most what it takes to put on a show like this how long has this show been in the making it took us 18 months to put all of this together with initially putting in the bid and then getting the course ready you know we put in a brand new course specifically designed for the professional women and that was a ton of work not to mention a couple micro cells coming through and pushing us backwards for a month or two getting the money together organizing volunteers a key staff 18 months solid work just about non-stop I'm not going to ask you to try to calculate the man hours because that would be a lot of math but how many people involved between volunteers the staff that you mentioned staff of other organizations that had a heavy hand in this like the Alamance wreck and parks department how many people would you estimate had a hand in putting the show on not not counting the competitors and Spectators you know counting the volunteers working this weekend and the different people working on the course oh gosh I would say we've gotten the neighborhood of four to five hundred people that have that have helped us make this happen and this is from all over the state not just Alamance County and Burlington North Carolina but I've had I've had people from Raleigh and and Durham you know an hour hour and a half away come volunteer and help me work on getting the course ready or or volunteering for this event this week and providing the best amenity diseases we can for the players and not only that 340 players many of them Juniors or amateurs which means family members coming...
