foreign day at the 2023 PDGA U.S women's disc golf championships from Burlington North Carolina and Cedar Rock Park I'm Grant Zellner alongside Sarah Nicholson we are indoors obviously why in a word Ophelia the tropical storm made landfall last night we're a great distance from the coast but it's a big storm and the impacts have been being felt in this region all night long we showed up to the course this morning Sarah I don't know about you the area where I have been spending most of my time lots of stuff all over the ground did your stuff weather the storm okay it was like 52 pickup and a deck of cards with stuff everywhere they handled it pretty well Crews were out here early this morning picking things up there are players on the course right now we expect impacts from the weather to increase before they decrease so we'll have to wait and see exactly what kind of impacts we see for the players on the course today but as things stand right now play players are dealing with the wet they're dealing with the wind it's been misting at least all morning long blowing sideways umbrellas really aren't even much help right now but the players seem to be in a pretty great mood it's kind of a new challenge a little bit of a story to tell about the time that they were playing for a national championship during a tropical storm so having a lot of fun with that absolutely it's cold out there that y'all I'm glad I'm inside well we are indoors and having a great time 340 players Outdoors right now across 21 divisions fj10 through FP 75 enjoying their day today I already saw a couple of great drives over there on hole number one watch the win with those discs up and down like they were on an elevator even saw a couple of birdies despite the conditions so players are out there having a great time in this Pro-Am major if you missed action on day number two we've got action for your now starting with a couple of Legends duking it out in the fp50 division you know them well Dez reading and Julianna Korver what can you expect from them other than a tight battle I mean these women have been battling out for...
