foreign welcome to the 2023 PDGA Masters Disc Golf World Championships from Flagstaff Arizona PDGA major back in an area that has hosted Majors before much beloved lots of History Philo breathwaite and Grant Zellner on the commentary Philo you've been here before you know a little bit about the lay of the land yes sir it's been a while 2005 amateur worlds was my first taste of Flagstaff and honestly I haven't really been back since Dave feldberg Joe Revere Tony Faro and Martin hendel on featured card coverage for day number one you get an idea here of some of the top players in the division lots of thousand rated Masters players on hand and we dive straight into it at Little America long hole number one 653 feet of par 4 narrow off the T to be sure and then a nice little uphill finish great way to start a tournament right here test the skills off the T first see how tight she can be a couple of options here Philo you can go with the wide right route a little bit safer you can go to the left and try to carve an Annie that goes right over another t-pad so clearly there's a path over there if you're willing to take the risk looks like felber is lining up some kind of a hyzer flip or maybe some kind of flex piser from Arvada Colorado Revere defending champion Tony Farrow of note Philo we're playing at about 7 000 feet of altitude here in Flagstaff a lot of players changing out their bags somewhat that's a necessary uh adjustment to make at altitude 7 000 feet it's definitely going to play tricks on a very overstable disc really treat kick there for Tony Farrow last but not least Martin hendel all the way from Ontario Canada 2011 rated player 60 career wins out of 186 starts that's not bad not bad at all looks like Tony also kissed a tree and heads off to the left excuse me Martin his second play Salvage par late in the day the wind came up here in this part of Flagstaff that's kind of the standard for my Mountain Golf isn't it kind of gets Breezy in the afternoons typically yeah no doubt about it after all those throws felberg now playing two looks like he got...
