2023 Las Vegas Challenge | PDGA Quick Hits: Offseason Review
The 2023 Las Vegas Challenge marks a thrilling return to competitive disc golf for PDGA's Quick Hits athlete. The off-season has been spent honing skills in various ways - through daily throwing sessions, rock climbing workouts, and putting practice at home. Competitor golf experience was also gained through tournament participation, including a hometown win and appearances at junior events sponsored by the athlete. In addition to physical training, the off-season saw significant personal changes, including becoming a teacher after homeschooling their daughter who started school. The athlete has continued to balance work and family life with dedication to disc golf, focusing on techniques such as backhand timing and putting. Recent trips abroad, like a victory in Koh Samui, Thailand, have also provided valuable experience. foreign off-season kind of just chilling out doing nothing I've been practicing as much as I can every day throw a lot of discs I was spending quite a bit of time in the rock climbing gym too that was a lot of fun a good workout I live in Iowa but I do have a setup in my basement where I'm able to throw in the net and do some good putting practice so that's been my main routine the off season I got some tournament golf in I got three seconds to Macbeth and I mean I don't mind him in three seconds to Paul I mean loses to that guy is not bad but having him uh at all these tournaments that I played in the off season was nice to get really good competitor golf in I won my hometown tournament then after that I kind of took a took a nice little break before we started going hard out here this this weekend I sponsored some Junior events um and played a lot of winter golf so I could get better for like wind and other great stuff we're going to have out this weekend uh just practicing my putting and just thinking about tournaments I've been skiing actually seeing downhill in Cross Country uh I set up a basket downstairs and doing 200 putts a day so I went to Thailand recently and got a little victory over in Koh Samui so that was nice to get back out into the field to play and get some Disc Golf in again I haven't really been doing a whole lot I actually became a teacher in this off season my daughter started school so I became her teacher because me and my wife decided to homeschool her just a lot of training putting in throwing inside that's kind of nice I don't have to go out in the cold winter in Denmark I play Ultimate Frisbee in the off season and then just playing on like my home course trying to run our company here get prepared for this season working on backhand timing and putting a lot of disc golf and really working on my YouTube channel I did a whole vlogmas series so go check it out at YouTube If you haven't yet make sure to like And subscribe and yeah we'll be...
