welcome to continuing coverage of the opening round the 2022 united states women's disc golf championships from madison wisconsin it's grant zellner and sai ananda bringing you this legendary card let's be honest here at token creek yeah we've got a lot of experience and and even some younger players on the card too with arya as well so we've got a really nice lineup a really interesting opening nine as our players begin to sort of settle in get comfortable the wind steadily dying down during the course of the early part of this round so by the end of that opening nine everybody no more excuses now you've got to have the putter dialed in you've got to have everything ready to go and you can see exactly how things shaped up for our players right here everybody even par or better arya starting with a little bit of a rough finish but three birdies so far which is putting her two under par and rebecca bogey-free which is always nice yeah great comeback there from ari after that rough start hole number 10 par 4 450 feet a chance to sort of air things out we we kind of duck in and out of the thick woods here at token creek so this this a little bit out of the woods at least off the tee box you're looking at about 345 feet to the first of this grove of trees and then here the basket another 100 or so feet beyond those earliest trees the wind pretty uh sharp here from right to left this one of the few remaining holes that's really exposed to the gusty winds today as dez with the honors here on the 10th that's a little bit tight but she'll definitely have a nice hyzer approach for that at least yeah that's okay here up next a little bit of a wind drop there but it looks like she managed well that's going to be challenging though she pushed around into that corner couldn't really control that could she now rebecca with a lot of power we'll see how she uses it here on the 10th i think that right to left wind especially with how this hole plays can can make distance shots challenging you want to push the nose over a little bit yeah wind definitely slammed rebecca down...
