welcome to continuing opening round coverage of the 2022 united states women's disc golf championships from madison wisconsin title sponsor for the tournament and the disc it's grand zoner alongside jennifer allen we're watching the back nine of the fp40 division here on day one from the token park disc golf course there's your current leaderboard as of the turn roughly here during the opening round jennifer sitting in a good place to attack as we look at hole number 10 par 4 450 feet about 345 to this first sort of line of trees here everything else pretty straightforward nothing out of bounds but a little trouble to the right and to the left you can see the basket right there in front of you yeah again the winds are still very strong i believe at this point it's still a very strong tailwind and so again the tailwind is going to kind of try to smash those drives down into the ground a little quicker than we would like them to and the grass here is very thick winds have been steady all day and you can see as that one kind of smashes down natalie's it's not gonna roll too far off the fairway though natalie leading the card here through the opening nine jennifer you'd like to change that right here yeah this is a pretty soft par four i was able to get inside circle one circle two during practice but the tailwind is just not allowing that today yeah so you want to try to get past that first row of trees to have a good look yeah really challenging wind direction here you can see what happens it either slams the disc or it gets under the wing and shoves everything well off to the left where that's a difficult angle to get back to the basket yeah you want to watch the angle when you release a disc in the wind as you can see there as if the angle is left or right it's going to just take it that way when it gets underneath it so you have to kind of think of that as a saucer pan if you're a new player out there and you're trying to see what the wind is going to do to your disc just softly hold it in the air in your hand...
