from Winthrop University in Rock Hill South Carolina the work week has come to a close it's Friday but today that work was completed on the course in the 2022 throw pink women's disc golf championship and the 2022 United States disc golf championships I'm Grant zelner of the PDGA recapping day two the story of the day in the fpo field hot rounds a trio of competitors out shooting the rest of the field by five Strokes Hannah blumroose and own Scoggins each at 10 under par along with your solo leader Katrina Allen 10 under par for the day and 16 under par for the tournament that's Katrina Allen in the driver's seat heading into the weekend at Winthrop Sarah Holcomb will join that Trio on the lead card playing a solid and steady five under par round on Friday foreign just one of the elements that makes the arena course here at Winthrop University so special all of the extras going on around the event earlier today we caught up with Jay Yeti Redding of The Edge program as he introduced the Next Generation to disc golf I'm Jay Redding and we're at the usdgc The Edge Ace place where we're bringing in uh schools from around the local area for a field day of disc golf Learning and Frisbee trick throwing Edge is the educational disc golf experience we have some great students from Cherry Park you guys were putting and you were counting up did your team win was it boys versus girls friends and throwing it we're broadcasting from usdgc and I'm he and I'm Ava Grace and I'm here with I'm Jay Redding what do you like about doing disc golf oh this golf provides so much outdoor recreation and fun and with my friends I just like playing disc golf how about you I like it um I haven't played it much but I like it yeah good job good job how about disc golf on three one two three Edge as a national non-profit organization um we like to get kids involved with this golf at an early age and hopefully they fall in love with it and can participate uh throughout their entire lives as the mpo field took the course for day two of the United States Disc Golf Championship several familiar faces Rising through the ranks including Chris...
