we are introducing the inaugural pdga champions cup this is the fourth professional major that the pros will play throughout the year it's actually the first leading off uh it was important for us to have a spring major we had one of the most elite fields in my opinion probably ever ever seen in the sport out of the 100 mpo players 98 of them are rated 1 000 or higher we have a unique qualification process if you won a qualifying event in 2021 you had the opportunity to register to be here but we also thought it was really important that we made sure that our international representation was strong so we've got players from norway and sweden and estonia the new zealand disc golf champion is here some of our best players in the world didn't win an event last year so then at that point it was based on ratings and world rankings and that sort of thing we've been planning for over a year meetings phone calls emails when you finally get here and you see it into fruition it kind of it kind of has a christmas morning kind of feel wr jackson such a beautiful course the original design was john hauck a legendary course designer there was a redesign in 2018 of six holes by zack shafer and thomas lynch which really elevated the course it's back it's on camera the players are going to be in for the cleanest wooded experience they've ever had and i i'm just so excited to see how it plays out we felt there was really no better place to introduce this this event than the international disc golf center a company with the reach of bushnell partnering with the pdga it's only good things for later and it just grows the eyes on the sport the roots of the sport are grounded here in this building to step onto the grounds of where all these roots are and then know that we're going to plant some more trees we are going to make disc golf history this week and this is where the history lives
