we're here in north cove social club in marion north carolina we're at the college disc golf national championships the facility came to be by these two visionaries luke and kyle they purchased the property they brought in team innova to really manage the course design and course development so through a partnership with innova they were able to develop two beautiful courses out here it was a former ball golf course so out of the 18 holes the first two uh disc golf courses they designed were utilizing the front nine and then for this event for the 2022 college disc golf national championships they utilized the other nine and created uh the highest level course out here possible and really utilized every bit of the second half of the property they could and created a super challenging course for our collegiate competitors so really we're incredibly grateful to be here the venue has been incredibly supportive it's just you know a great scenario all around we're very appreciative to be here so the college disc golf national championship did start in 2007 at that time we had around 10 teams this year we've grown to include 75 different schools and 522 competitors yes this is our first year for college disc golf memberships and we've really stepped up and grown our membership organization to 850 members strong in our first year so college disc golf is a very unique you know type of event we are a team based event and and no other organization in disc golf that we're aware of is team as central to their organization is for us we love to welcome the women's individual competitors but that's the only opportunity for an individual compete in our organization and our events so for college disc golf we're really geared towards growing clubs and organizations and the leadership that comes out of that for us if we can have an impact on a student and help them grow personally or professionally you know whether that leads them towards the future in disc golf or elsewhere if we have an impact on that student we've accomplished every one of our goals for college disc golf we're from mizzou uh this is our third year competing together our team hasn't changed much but uh we're ranked number one in the nation right now we've undefeated in the...
