hello and welcome to the 2022 college disc golf national championships we are coming to you from north cove disc golf and social club in beautiful marion north carolina i'm hayden henry with the pdga joined by felix vega of ace run productions happy to be here headed and excited for this big event i'll be obviously into a big presenting sponsor and this is the first pdga major of the year correct yeah and this event just continues to grow year in and year out we've got a full field a record field over 50 schools represented over 500 competitors on this beautiful property yeah we'll be bringing you the men's team doubles round here for round one from the gorge a beautiful par 64 coming in at just under 10 000 feet and here we have missouri ranked number one in the college disc golf rankings coming into the national championships joined by number two texas yeah i believe missouri is still undefeated on the season definitely all right we'll be starting things off here on hole one this is a par three coming in at 381 feet a treacherous and daunting starting hole a tight gap to hit coming down with some elevation short of this cart path here is hazard as well as long of this little island or peninsula the basket is located is also hazard yeah this hole actually checked in as the second hardest of the day just just a 0.2 over par here at the college disc golf national championships most our divisions are based upon four-person teams so those four-person teams are split into two pairs one pair of tees off on every even hole the other pair of tees off on every odd hole after the one pair tees off the next pair plays the better of the two eyes and that alternating shot keeps going until the completion of the hole and it only takes one putt to complete the hole and then go into the next t-pad regardless of who putted out it goes back to reverts to the odd or even pairings based upon who's seen off first leading us off missouri we're from mizzou uh this is our third year competing together our team hasn't changed much but uh we're ranked number one in the nation right now we've undefeated in the regular season since i've...
