this is matt rossdon with the pdga the sun is set on the santa cruz masters cup and after three days of battle adam hammes and paige pierce emerged victorious hamas began the day tied with kevin jones and six ahead of third place but the surging james proctor made it a nail biter shooting the hot round 13 under clutch putting down the stretch helped hammers cross the finish line one ahead of proctor for his first pdga national tour win we caught up with him after the rounds it's amazing it's kicked in now um it's insane um to be able to like have my name with the list of players and former past champions from this this course and like you know like the everything that goes out of this tournament talk just like the history from daylight and everything just to be like amongst those top players that have won in the past is unbelievable it's a dream come true and this is huge for me this is exactly what i want to do you know coming off a gbo was like one of the biggest learning experiences i've had in a tournament in a long time um it's just like just being calm on the course and not getting angry because i know i've been known for that in the past and um just staying calm and starting the round positive and finishing positive has been a big thing for me lately and that's what i wanted to come out here and do and i did it i'm super proud of myself please paige pierce continued her dominant run in the women's open division claiming her 25th national tour title and her third consecutive win in the last three major and elite series events we asked paige about her win and her goals for the rest of the year oh man it's it's kind of bittersweet you know it's a win but today was not an acceptable performance from for myself and especially you know i i got lucky today that nobody really put up a good score nobody shot under par at all so i was able to walk away with the win but i think any other day things would have went a different way just gotta stay motivated to play my best and keep the momentum going to worlds that's it for...
