junior world's player meeting just got finished this is the third time we've hosted the event we did it in 1819 now we're doing it again in 21 and man does it feel good to see all the kids and their family here in the granada theater it's kind of crazy that play starts tomorrow and we're going to change the lives of several kids who are crowned world champions at the end of this week playing young is super important and i think that it's it's cool to see seven-year-olds eight-year-olds nine-year-olds 12 year olds 15 year olds that are just killing it on the disc golf course but more important than that i think is to put the focus on them and only them i think it's important in our sport that every segment that competes is the star of a show at some point we have done a good job of taking junior worlds and and elevating it you got 251 juniors just eight years ago eight years ago here in emporia for am worlds there were 60 juniors i look back to oh my daughter's going to kill me my youngest daughter paige who is a competitive disc golfer played junior worlds for i think three years and i think it was 2010 that she won she later went on to win a fpo world title also winning that year junior titles was a guy named ricky wysocki it's cool that we've had a front row seat for three of the last four years here at emporia to see these kids come out here and elevate their game and and make a name for themselves part of the success here is they're the star of the show and and i hope we keep them being the star of the junior world show long into the future
