foreign as championship sunday arrived at the 2021 delaware disc golf challenge all eyes were on connor o'reilly as the 28 year old from austin texas carried a five stroke lead into the final round even so no one expected it to be a walk in the park as o'reilly who just got into the sport five years ago was making his first appearance on an elite series lead card and with a pack of hungry competitors on his heels including the likes of ricky wysocki nothing could be taken for granted uh hard to even describe i mean disc golf's been my life the last five years since i found it and uh to get a first eight-year win on this level is just amazing i can't even describe it i just want to thank everyone who supported me and everyone has challenged me along the way playing against a guy like rick you know he's capable of putting down hot scores and he's a guy i like to mold my game after coming into the game similar similar build really good player and uh just to feel him coming out coming at my and my throat down the stretch is a great way to build some experience going forward wasaki put the pressure on early carting birdies on five of the first six holes and tightened the vise even more with an eagle on the daunting 780 foot hole eight capped off with a vintage raptor leg putt but o'reilly never blinked answering with a birdie of his own on eight and keeping the two-time world champion from getting within three strokes of the lead before walking it in with a par on the 18th for the win in the women's division it looked as though it was anybody's game as heather young holly finley and conapanus came into the final just one stroke off the lead that was until katrina allen took control it didn't take long for the two-time world champion seven-time major champion and now 21-time elite serious champion to shrug off the field and throw down a flawless bogey free 10 30 rated 11 under gem to take down her first big win since worlds i know this is really really like not nice to say but it just felt easy for once and uh yeah that always feels great just getting my mind...
