the largest women's field ever descends upon Spotsylvania Virginia this weekend for the United States women's disc golf championship with a record 52 competitors in the open women's field and 170 total participants this PDG a major becomes something even more than major it's incredible it's like nothing else typically women are minority on courses and so my favorite part is just looking out and seeing so many women out there all together and you just have this instant bond with them I love women's events I played another one this year up in Washington and that's obviously a much smaller event but it's just a different atmosphere when it's a bunch of women you know from all walks of life all levels of skill all different occupations and just so many different kinds of people that were all brought together to throw this together for a weekend what a professional disc golf strongest advocates for women's growth just so happens to be peaking at the right time as two-time US Women's Champion Sarah hokum enters the event on a to start winning streak I feel pretty good the courses are really are really awesome there's a really good mix of open and wooded holes and I'm just trying to maintain focus and just do my best out there I'm trying not to put any expectations on myself and just you know hope I play well as hocum leads the veteran contingent a young talent pool has started to overflow in the FBO division the players like Rebecca Cox hailey King and Missy Gannon making their mark this season last year I think I put a great Shaun I think if I do that again this year it'll just keep making my name or up there and getting me farther in disc golf farther in my career I'm never counting myself out even for a major I know that I can win this if I if I really have a solid weekend of golf even among a large field one woman still stands tall page Pierce who can secure her first career major sweep of the wind this weekend it's definitely on my mind I have never accomplished that before so it would be super awesome I've been thinking about it for a couple weeks now and just excited at the opportunity I think even if it doesn't happen it's...
