2019 Las Vegas Challenge: Round 1 Open Recap

The 2019 Las Vegas Challenge: Round 1 Open Recap showcases Simon Lazat's performance at the first stop of the PDGA national tour. In a round that saw 27 players shoot under par, Lazat impressed with eight birdies in the first nine holes. However, his hot start was tempered by a frustrating finish, particularly on hole 17 where a tricky putt went awry due to wind conditions. Despite this setback, Lazat's solid play throughout the round earned him a strong overall score. Anthony Bella also had a standout performance, posting his highest rated round of the season, largely thanks to his accurate putting. The recap provides an in-depth look at Lazat and Bella's strategies and techniques, including their approaches to overcoming challenges and staying focused under pressure.

Watch top pros compete on challenging courses at the 2019 Las Vegas Challenge with Paul McBeth & Ricky Wysocki leading the pack.

hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the mo round one recap here at the first stop on the PDGA national tour getting us started Simon lazat would find eight birdies in the first nine holes but still would not be satisfied yeah I mean it looked like a hot start on the paper but it didn't feel like that hot I mean all these holes are so getable and my first putt I think it was nerves like a 20 footer on whole one but besides that I was so happy especially the way the putting felt and the confidence I felt with my putts it's been like that all offseason like every round I've played I felt so prepared playing in this colder conditions and yeah with no wind it's like birdie Fest out there birdie Fest indeed as round one would see 27 players at 10 under par or better Simon here with a few big putts and a park job here on whole 16 he would though find himself in a little bit of trouble on 17 it felt so good out of my hand I lined it up and it was like I was like there's no way I'm going to miss this and then there was a little right to left wind then my poter just barely got on an angle and then the wind just pushed it left side chains and if it like feels like it's going in all the way then it's like just double frustrating when you notice oh nope and then I just had to throw myself on the ground in dramatic fashion over the offseason I worked a lot on my game uh my putter up shots the Nova my putting and and it definitely showed at the start of the season and then I had a rough week last week with the tough conditions but this week I'll hopefully jump back into my routine checking in at 1078 round one would be Anthony Bella's highest rated round of his career and you can chalk it up to the putting 100% inside the circle he is improving year after year and he knew he was on to something early probably through like the first six holes cuz I was six under through the first six so after that I just felt like if I played Sol to finish...
