what is up everybody and welcome to another episode of down the fairway in today's episode of down the fairway I'm going to be giving you guys another drill this time this is gonna be strictly for backhands in my opinion the most important thing about the backhand throw is timing now a lot of people go over this and they kind of skip past the power they want all the power in the world or they want to be accurate while all these things but the key of it is to have good timing now how do you practice a good timing I'm gonna give you a drill today that will help put that whole thing together in a nice cool package I think one of the key ingredients and having good timing is making sure to sync up the upper body and the lower body now a good way to do this is to make sure that your feet are going the same speed as your arm speed with all shots and that means not going slow with your feet and then fast with your upper body like this actually pretty funny ooh that one really straightened to the naked eye you would think wow that was a really good shot but to me I felt so many things going wrong right there now the next way that I'm going to show you is another way that I see a lot of people get away with the run-up but it's not necessarily in my opinion the correct way to throw and that is going superfast with your feet and then having a slower arm speed for like a shorter shot or something like that now having a really fast run up could be good for big distance shots but when you're trying to have touch on a smaller course or a smaller hole kind of like the one behind me having that really fast runner it's gonna be really difficult for you to link those two things up being your feet and your upper body now the correct way to do this to make sure that both the upper body and lower body kind of have the same speed which means if I'm gonna throw let's say a mid-range shot I don't want to run up really fast I don't want to run up really slow I'm gonna...
