what's up everybody and welcome back to another episode of down the fairway in today's episode of down the fairway i'm going to go into the intricate details of the grip and shorter up shots so inside 250 to 200 feet one of the things that i see amateurs and pros alike doing is they don't have the pressure points in the grip a lot of people try to have a back loaded grip in their short up shots i'll go into detail of that right now here is the back loaded grip right here i could basically take my thumb and my index finger off of the disc and this back here is where i'm getting the power and hopefully the accuracy now this is tough because now your arm speed is going to have to increase in order to get these fingers to properly get off of the disc in your release point what this does is it makes it tougher to put the proper spin and to be more accurate on your release point to where if i'm like this i have to throw it harder and i'm not going to be able to guide the disc to a release point i'm going to have to rip it out of my hand now a lot of times with this back loaded grip it feels more comfortable to curl the finger underneath the rim now you're loaded back here you're also loaded up here but in order to get this out of your hand it's going to have to rip out of that front finger this is what is going to cause the wobble that i see a lot of people have which makes it super tough to be accurate in windy conditions and with shorter up shots the reason for that is you have to get it to pop and pull off of that index finger it'll look something like this grip now if you were to watch the flight of the disc that i just threw initially there's going to be a little bit of wobble and the reason is is because i'm trying to down temp my swing for a shorter shot in order to get it out of my hand it has to rip off of that front index finger what happens is it comes off of there and with a down tempo swing...
