what's up everyone today we're at independence park formerly known as ven horse and i'm here with nick carl to film a local route on the course that i helped design and uh check it out there we go welcome to independence park in bedford virginia this is a public course around a large pond that comes into play on a few holes there are two t-pad locations and since paul helped design the long tees those are the ones he and nick are going to play from today there are also two pin positions so they're playing from the b position today this is a favorite course of ours because it is considered a pro layout with shots similar to what we see on tour just make sure that you're going to wear the right shoes because after this amazing shot from paul you'll see why this is mostly a wooded course and doesn't get a lot of sunlight so we have a lot of mud and you know relatively new just be careful our area has a lot of beginner courses so being able to practice here is great for distance with accuracy we love the ob creeks that flow throughout the course and as always the elevation change is the natural obstacle found on each fairway i almost faced it independence hasn't been around for a long time but it's always when we show off to friends who come through the area whether it's a forehand like we just saw from paul or a hyzer flip or just that classic hyzer down the long wooded fairway this course has u-shaping shots at different speeds which is the exact kind of practice we need in preparation for the pro tour my favorite part is always how quiet the park is there are running trails and there's places to fish or have a cookout with your family but the disc golf course is never busy so if you want to practice putting or re-throw a hole or two you're not worried because you don't feel like you're holding anyone up and this is a great example of the practice that i talked about so nick shot is good but suddenly he realizes it's high or maybe too much speed not enough angle so now it's headed down the hillside to the left paul gets a lot of angle on...
