hello and welcome to the 2022 portland open presented by dynamic discs today we are back with round one back nine coverage from blue lake regional park in portland oregon with nate sexton jeremy calling it's jomo's pro and it's big sexy we have got paul macbeth with a couple of big par saves from out of bounds shots staying at five under a couple off the pace set by simon and calvin at seven as you see there with our leaderboard flashing up on the right garrett gerthy brady och at six under and a slew of other players right there tied with macbeth logan hardpool a little bit struggling on the front nine but man he's got a lot of game here and back nine has some opportunities but it gets really tough towards the end dang i just saw at the bottom of the leaderboard i gotta shout out olympia washington native or local jeremy marsh five under oh wow good for you that is cool well 10's a little tricky blind shot 295 feet there's out of bounds all around the green this is sharp i like it though like if it digs it's perfect i like it a lot yikes oh i liked it i thought for good reason i mean that easily could have sat down absolutely parked though i do think going for the park job here is a little bit a roll of the dice yeah you'd kind of like to play for a 20-footer not a 45-footer but at least he's in bounds uh speaking of it barely in bounds my goodness is this inbound it barely is but that was a bit of a shank from drew that's going to be a par at best i'm i'm happy to see him go to the forehand though even though that one didn't work out i think for drew gibson to be like a major champion to be the player that we all know he can be yeah he needs to be able to trust a forehand on a hole like this that being said even i threw a couple backhands in practice and put them pretty close i i think the backhand is a viable play sure but it is a very scary shot with the glide factor of the backhand coming into the green whereas the forehand wants to just...
