welcome to the round one back nine coverage of the 2022 texas state disc golf championship a disc golf pro tour elite series event i'm holly finley here with my friend and competitor madison walker hey guys and we are at the thorn disc golf course located inside lindsay park in tyler texas this is a new course design for the year last year we played the wooded dogwood this year we are playing a mixture of all three courses on the property it is called the thorn and the name rings true uh keeping it clean is the name of the game here birdies are not necessarily as easy to get on this course and that rings true in the back nine as well so let's get right into hole 10 306 feet uh what you want to do is pick which one of these pencil trees you want to punch it through how are you going to shape your shot is it going to be straight you're going to go more right and hyzer into the basket you're going to do a flex side arm that road is ob so you can't throw it too hard or hey you're putting back for a short putt and maybe you could get a three i actually heard someone say they might take that strategy just throw it long right at the basket try to ace it and come back for the three so katrina a bit of a misfire catches that tree but she lands safe and she'll be looking at a little downhill pitch for the three this is an interesting tee shot because you want to go straight for a while you can't really just throw it nose down off the tee you have to push straight and let your disc finish so whatever angle you put it on it's going to be highlighted so i threw a t-bird but i didn't put enough on it landed about 45 valerie using a mid off the tee and i love that look at that gentle sweeping finish that is definitely fine so maria is throwing a dangle putter off the tee which i was so mad at her about like dang marie i'm throwing a fairway and you're throwing a putter she tickles some trees and still gets down there in circle too so given a little bit i...
