hey everybody welcome to the first round of four at the portland open presented by dynamic discs we're about halfway through the year on the disc golf pro tour we're out on the west coast i'm madison walker i'm erica stenchcomb and we're your two hotkeys honk reunited at last um the first two rounds of the event we play at blue lake park uh it's in north northern portland oregon right on the columbia river we get to watch kona panas paige pierce valerie mandujano and ella hansen work this course this might be our only day with no rain so let's enjoy it yeah it was beautiful today blue lake is such a great track we had a tournament here in 2019 and of course worlds was here and i believe 2014. hole one is a daunting low ceiling 355 foot hole it's caters to the players that have that really low linear power that carries and a little ground play doesn't help i mean doesn't hurt at the end there is out of bounds on the right and left but it doesn't come into play unless you catch a tree playing out of rancho cucamonga california kona star panic kona took sixth at this event last year which was played at glendavier which is a new golf course that was added last year kind of last minute and that's where the final two rounds of this tournament will be but on a redesigned course from last year true same property out of plano this shot is a fairly straightforward hyzering finish type of a shot so you just want to throw something with some over stability and just let the disc do the work at the end you can get a flex in there as well that would to help get get some more distance but you really do have to push that ceiling to get all the way down there this looks really good if it misses that tree still a good drive next on the box out of universal city texas it's valerie mondujano valerie took eighth place here last year uh of course i forgot to mention paige did win this event last year that is one of the more common errors you will see off this tee shot trying to put it too high p.o division out of seattle washington let's hear it...
