this is round one of the dynamic disc open it's the fifth disc golf pro tour event of the year we're in kansas i'm madison walker and i'm erica sinchombe we're the two hotkeys um it was forecasted to be pretty brutally rainy and windy today the rain held off there was a couple showers and some drizzle in the morning but it stayed pretty sunny but the wind was still present we're watching paige pierce valerie mandujano haley king and macy vela diaz haley winning this event of course last year um she averaged 988 golf and won the event by six strokes um yeah paige no stranger to winning here she won it in 2020 and she won the glass blown open in 2018 2017 2015 and 2013. it feels like almost been one of our home courses yeah it's like windy and wide open just like texas hole one is a downhill 291 foot par-3 to start the day off and it is an island hole um you can lay up before this creek the creek is out of bounds and then all the grass is out of bounds you want to throw in that red um rubbery rubbery mulch very bouncy it is balanced like you just want to jump when you get on sometimes it just bounces you right out of bounds the basket's elevated there is no lighthouse but it's up there okay lots of rules out here the uh um whole descriptions are long but we'd rather be thorough than not i feel like i've never seen paige pierce lay up in my entire life i know what a weird start it wasn't it wasn't even it wasn't windy it was a little windy i mean it was still like a solid 15 mile per hour wind almost a day like enough to think about it in your head if you go for it it's a it's basically a two or four yep you know so i don't blame paige for wanting the par valerie looks like she's going for it yeah she's got an emac truth in hand and that just needs a little more height and finish yeah it gets a little redirection from from some twigs the drop zone's super close but not close enough to putt no this course is redesigned from last year when haley won it it...
