Day 22: Play Your Casual Round Slow Like A Tournament | Gatekeeper Media's New Year's Resolutions
Gatekeeper Media's new year's resolutions continue as Andrew Fish from Team Discraft and Upper Park Disc Golf takes on a unique challenge: playing a casual round of disc golf at a tournament-like pace. By slowing down every shot, taking a minimum of two minutes to throw, and simulating tournament conditions, Andrew aims to help viewers improve their game by diversifying their practice routine. This tutorial-style video is part of Gatekeeper's January series, where daily videos focus on skill drills and tips for players looking to take their game to the next level. With Andrew's guidance, viewers can learn how to adopt a more strategic approach to playing disc golf, including managing nerves, conserving energy, and making deliberate shots. Join Andrew as he plays through his round at home course or a familiar terrain, showcasing practical advice on how to play smart, not fast.

welcome back to gatekeeper media's new year's resolution today january 22nd we are going to be annoyed for no apparent reason we are going to play slow we are going to try to simulate tournament pacing on a normal day's play so go to your home course or a course that you know fairly well and rather than being able to play through pretty quickly it's going to take about three hours like a tournament round would get a good warm-up in do some putting go to the first tee and throw one shot at a time once you get to hole one you're gonna start your round and throw one shot you're gonna play it just like it's a tournament round the twist here is that you're gonna play intentionally slow every time you throw a shot start a timer on your phone or your watch and you have to wait a minimum of two minutes before you can throw anything except a tap in if it helps you with pre-tournament nerves announce yourself now teeing off on hole one andrew fish representing team discraft and upper park disc golf make it as natural as possible to play your practice round as a tournament round all right start the timer and if there's people who want to play through you this entire day so much the better come on up guys there you go so yeah what are you guys doing you're just doing a practice run so every day in january gatekeeper is posting uh a video of like tutorial or a skill drill that you can work on um and i'm kind of guiding through that the idea being that i think a lot of people struggle with diversifying how they practice and play so i'm right right now i'm suggesting a way to play a round that more simulates a tournament right so i guess in a tournament he couldn't be like ah i could do better than that rethrow yeah exactly like there's such a temptation to come up and and like say ah well i was i wasn't totally warmed up i'll throw another and like in a tournament you definitely don't get that luxury so as these guys are playing through this is kind of like having a card a group of card mates you know we talk about something to pass the...
