welcome back to gatekeeper media's new year's resolutions happy january 12th to you today i want to talk about some extreme putting styles it's a really good habit to have a default putt that you're comfortable with in most situations but sometimes the course doesn't give you most situations you can have a lot of wind a weird stance a hill so something that i like to do is try to call interesting parts of other players games and steal this for myself a little bit morrow's maybe a nicer word the first pro that i want to make an example of is steve brenster steve is well known for his distinctive deep straddle putt where he's driving the bus so to speak the thing that i want to steal from steve's putt is that he's very square to the basket from his feet to his hips to his shoulders to his head that means that he keeps all of his movements online with the basket the other thing he does that's really interesting is he has a very low spin high angle putt what that's doing is makes his flight very predictable and unlikely to go past the basket very far if he misses let's go to the tape for an example this is steve for birdie great put by steve that's four in a row another pro who has something they can teach us in their putt is lisa fakas lisa is well known as one of the best distance putters in the game and i really like that she has several different kinds of putts from a slow floaty anhyzer to a very driven spin putt something she does that's very unique on some of her jump putts is to bring her feet together she'll set up in her normal stance and then bring her left foot towards her right foot so they are joined she'll begin leaning and then jump into it what that's doing is allowing her lean to get a little bit extra momentum to the basket before she jumps and putts so the thing to learn is that your lower body is really good for providing power if you do that then it lets these smaller more refined muscles in your arm do the control part the third pro that i want to take a look at is anthony barella ab is well...
