the Statue of Liberty flick was originally invented as a joke throw however after throwing the flick I believe that it could be an effective break throw SL have yet to prove the effectiveness of the flick until then it remains to be straight Dark Horse what's up guys it's Brody I'm about to revolutionize the sport of ultimate As We Know It This is called the Statue of Liberty flip we're first going to talk about the grip the grip is very similar to the forehand grip my thumb's going to be on the flight Rings my pinky and ring finger are going to be resting on the outside of the disc and inside I have my middle finger against the crease of the disc and my index finger instead of being pushed down it's not going to be in a full piece position here it's going to be halfway out there to give me extra stability other than that the throw is pretty simple you're going to raise your throwing hand completely vertical and the big thing is you want to make sure the disc is flat the disc comes out of your hand not flat it's not going to work you're going to raise the disc completely vertical like this it's a slow wrist movement my arm's basically not going to move at all I'm just going to slowly move my wrist back and then follow through with a quick little snap and it's going to be able to break every single Mark Statue of Liberty flick is designed to break a backhand Mark as you notice here I'm not throwing the disc more than 10 or 15 yards I'm also practicing trying to get a really good wrist snap at the top of my throw and you can also see I'm gaining a little bit of power too my lower body with a little bit of a hip movement but really all it takes is just holding that arm as high as you can and then practicing that release and get it as flat as possible as you can see here all right I've got Falco here to Mark me so what's going to happen in a game usually when the disc is near the end zone I'm going to walk up it's a back end mark Falcon's going to be there on the mark now...
